Graduated in journalism from the Universidad Complutense of Madrid, Antonio began his work as a reporter in the international section of Efe news agency, but he has developed most of his career in the newspaper El País, the leading newspaper in Spain, where he occupied the position of editor in chief between 2014 and 2018. During that time, he promoted the digital version and launched the America edition in Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Brazil and other Latin American countries. Specialized in international affairs, throughout his journalistic career he has covered events that have marked history such as the Persian Gulf, Malvinas and Central American wars, as well as numerous relevant events in four continents.
As a correspondent in Washington for more than a decade, he has covered four presidential elections in the United States. During his successful professional career, he has interviewed numerous presidents, heads of state and others relevant personalities.
