Pablo Gonzalo is a highly regarded internal communication guru in Spain and partner at Estudio de Comunicación.
Pablo has been a pioneer in changing the understanding of internal communication practices in Spain after more than thirty years of experience in this field. Pablo understood that the goal of internal communication should not exclusively be to “inform employees of the management’s point of view”. If internal communication aims at adding significant value to the business, it is key to develop strategies based on a bidirectional communication with employees and focused on influencing their perceptions and behaviours, seeking a greater commitment to the company’s goals.
After working in a multinational corporation in the technology sector as Internal Communication and Management Training director, Pablo decided to join a consultancy company to advise clients and influence the cultural transformation processes. He also worked to improve the engagement with employees for the largest listed companies operating in Spain. As a trusted advisor and expert in internal communication, Pablo’s daily activities range from designing strategies to establishing a solid and dynamic dialogue with a company’s employees, planning the internal communication to support the cultural change and the achievement of the business objectives, advising on the appropriate technological channels to better connect with employees as they spend more and more time on their mobile devices, and of course, helping his clients become active listeners .
Pablo holds a PhD in Journalism from the Complutense University of Madrid. He is the author of the first doctoral thesis in Spain about Internal Communication. Today, Pablo is a professor at the Instituto de Empresa.
